Another Manhattan Skyline
BackManhattan skyline in the setting sun of December 2004. Repair work was still in process on the buildings surrounding the fallen World Trade Towers. The building in the background with the enormous crane next to it was only half repaired after the terror attack of 2001, with glass still being replaced to the upper floors. Some other buildings close to ground zero were still clothed in black netting. Giving an eerie appearance that the building themselves were still in mourning. The setting sun cast a wonderful glow to the building, giving an array of colours and a feeling of warmth. The photo was taken while aboard the ferry to visit Liberty Island.

| 20/04/2006 | Louise Parry | I don't know if you were trying to achieve any particular theme with this shot but you seem to have captured the past, the present and the future of the Manhattan/New York Financial District Skyline. Plus the detail in the picture along with the shadows of the buildings on one another just adds to the feeling the shot gives. |
