New From Old

Back

This picture shows part of the old wall belonging to the 13th Century Tintagel Castle. Situated on Cornwall's rugged coastline it is a place full of mystery and legends, including that of it being the birth place of King Arthur. I find this photo magical because it depicts the very old supporting the very young. The ancient walls give home to the fragile, fresh green, tiny fern. When you study the wall you see that the old crumbling castle is not empty and desolate but that it still supports life in abundance. Ferns, mosses, lichens, spiders and numerous others insects all find a home within it's protective walls. New From Old
