The Peace Lilly is also known as Spathiphyllum, which comes from the Greek for blade (spathe) and (phyllon) leaf. Therefore describing the sword like shape of both the leaves and flowers. Not only is the Peace Lilly a beautiful houseplant to look at it also has the ability of cleaning environmental contaminants, including the removal of alcohol, acetone, benzene, and formaldehyde. They also add oxygen and humidity to the indoor environment. So beauty and function all rolled into one!
